Why Purchase Philips

TL01 Narrowband Tubes?

The Philips Narrowband UVB phototherapy lamps manufactured by Philips for psoriasis treatment and other skin conditions have been clinically proven and tested. There have been over 400 worldwide independent clinical studies from scientists worldwide that prove the efficiency and effectiveness of these UVB Lamps when it comes to healing and curing skin conditions.

The UVB lamp is designed with precision to emit 311nm of UV light, which is the optimal wavelength for psoriasis treatment. Other forms of treatment that many use come in the form of sunbeds, but these machines emit the wrong type of light for your skin condition.

The narrow waveband is between 305 and 315nm and peaks at 311nm, this means the Philips TL01 UVB Narrowband lamp is not only effective, but it is also the number 1 choice worldwide. We are the go-to suppliers of these narrowband tubes in the UK.

Benefits & Features of Philips TL01 Narrowband Tubes

Here at Skin Matters Bristol, we always warn against purchasing fake or unbranded UVB lamps for the treatment of psoriasis, as there is no guarantee of the correct UVB transmitted, which can be dangerous to your health and skin. Cheaper alternatives from China can be purchased online, but these are not effective when it comes to clearing your skin. We only use and supply the market leading Philips TL01 311nm UVB Narrowband Tubes. The Philips UVB psoriasis lamp is much safer and more effective than any other lamps in their class for psoriasis UV treatment.

Some benefits and features of using the Philips TL01 tubes also known as Philips TL100W/01 tubes are:

  • Proven Philips technology
  • Tested worldwide in more than 400 proven clinical tests
  • These UVB lamps are used in hospitals and dermatologist centres worldwide.
  • Optimum emission peak of 311nm
  • Minimum potential side effects like redness and itching
  • Shorter exposure times

One of the main reasons patients are treating their psoriasis at home using Philips TL01 UVB Narrowband lamps via our machines is due to the time and effort of travelling to medical centres for very short treatment times. Especially with the current back-log using these machines via NHS appointments, people are finding that buying the equipment themselves is proving to be an effective method of tackling their skin conditions quickly and efficiently.

The Philips TL100W/01 UVB Tube is a 6ft high lamp that is used in full-length phototherapy cabinets and canopies. They are used in clinics and departments across the world to treat psoriasis, but they are also suitable for treating psoriasis in the comfort of your own home via our range of UVB machines. Philips TL100 lamps can treat vitiligo, eczema, acne, scleroderma and more. Treatment can include psoriasis of the scalp via our handheld devices or full-body psoriasis care. We only supply genuine Philips TL01 Narrowband UVB Lamps and they can be used in all of our full-sized machines.

These UVB lamps only emit a very narrow waveband from the ‘B’ bandwidth of the UV spectrum (290 to 315). The narrow waveband is between 305 and 315 nm and peaks at 311 nm: the most efficacious waveband for the treatment of psoriasis. This means that treatment is much more focused and exposure times are much shorter. When you first start UVB treatment, sessions may only last 30 seconds to a minute to begin with, but once the sessions carry on, so will the time frame of usage. This allows you to have better control over the frequency you expose your skin to, making this narrowband radiation technique suitable for home use therapy. This in turn leads to a reduction of side effects such as reddening of the skin and itching. All of this makes them ideal for phototherapy treatment of diseases such as psoriasis and vitiligo.

A Philips TL100W/01 UVB lamp breaking is extremely unlikely, but if it were to happen it will not have any impact on your health if you follow the correct procedures. If a UVB lamp breaks, ventilate the room for 30 minutes and remove the parts, preferably with gloves to avoid your skin coming into contact with the device. Put them in a sealed plastic bag and take it to your local waste facilities for recycling. DO NOT use a vacuum cleaner. Our range of machines are available for home hire or for sale, so be sure to enquire today if you are looking to hire a UVB Light.
