The Philips TL100W/01 UVB Tube is a 6ft high lamp that is used in full-length phototherapy cabinets and canopies. They are used in clinics and departments across the world to treat psoriasis, but they are also suitable for treating psoriasis in the comfort of your own home via our range of UVB machines. These UVB lamps only emit a very narrow waveband from the ‘B’ bandwidth of the UV spectrum (290 to 315). A Philips TL100W/01 UVB lamp breaking is extremely unlikely, but if it were to happen it will not have any impact on your health if you follow the correct procedures. If a UVB lamp breaks, ventilate the room for 30 minutes and remove the parts, preferably with gloves to avoid your skin coming into contact with the device. Put them in a sealed plastic bag and take it to your local waste facilities for recycling. DO NOT use a vacuum cleaner.
